“Through a combination of a 20-year career in both the private and public sectors, to senior management level, over 10 years running my own businesses and coaching others, I’ve experienced a wide range of company cultures and leadership styles and have seen the positive and negative impacts these have on the wellbeing and performance of both employees and the company as a whole.  Together with my personal experience and qualifications, I help companies achieve the results they want through supporting & empowering their leadership teams and staff to perform at their best.”

In today’s fast-paced and demanding work environments, companies are increasingly recognising the importance of employee wellbeing.  Wellbeing encompasses physical, mental, and emotional health, and it directly impacts an individual’s performance in the workplace. When employees are supported and encouraged to prioritise their wellbeing, they are more likely to thrive and excel in their roles.

 Increased Productivity & Creativity

Employees who prioritise their wellbeing are generally more productive. When individuals take care of their health, they have more energy and focus to perform their tasks effectively.  Moreover, mental and emotional wellbeing are closely linked to productivity.  When employees feel mentally and emotionally well, they can concentrate better, solve problems more efficiently, be more creative and make informed decisions.

Enhanced Engagement

Wellbeing is closely connected to employee engagement, which refers to the level of commitment and dedication employees have towards their work and organisation. When individuals feel supported and valued by their employers, their engagement levels soar. Organizations that prioritise employee wellbeing create a positive work environment where individuals feel motivated to contribute their best efforts. Engaged employees are more likely to go above and beyond their job descriptions, seek opportunities for growth, and actively participate in achieving team and company goals.

Improved Mental Health

Mental health is a critical component of overall wellbeing. Stress, anxiety, and burnout can significantly impact an employee’s performance and overall job satisfaction. When companies foster a psychologically safe culture that promotes mental health and wellbeing, they create an environment where employees feel comfortable seeking support and managing their stress levels effectively. By providing supportive resources such as therapeutic services, flexible work arrangements, and stress management programs, employers can help mitigate the negative effects of mental health issues and create a workforce that is mentally resilient and better equipped to handle workplace challenges.

Reduced Absenteeism

Poor wellbeing can lead to increased absenteeism and presenteeism (being physically present but not fully engaged or productive). When employees are physically or mentally unwell, they are more likely to take sick leave or experience reduced productivity while at work. Conversely, organisations that prioritise wellbeing and provide resources for preventative care and support can reduce absenteeism rates. By offering wellness programs, flexible work hours, and promoting a healthy work-life balance, employers can create an environment that encourages employees to prioritise their wellbeing and reduce the occurrence of prolonged absences.

Positive Company Culture

Wellbeing initiatives not only benefit individual employees but also contribute to a positive company culture. When employers demonstrate a genuine commitment to employee wellbeing, it fosters trust, loyalty, and a sense of belonging among the workforce. Employees feel valued and supported, leading to increased job satisfaction and a higher likelihood of staying within the company.

Katie facilitated our first session, a team away day, in such a way that I was left speechless.

The tools that she used to bring the team together were interesting and thought-provoking, allowing everyone their ‘safe place’ to talk, feel that they are being listened to and that they are contributing towards change. Personally, as a manager, the experience has been fascinating and is beginning to change my way of thinking and reflecting. Katie is not the problem solver, but allows you to become one, without you even knowing you are doing it.

I found your talk inspiring and thought-provoking, and that doesn’t happen very often! Thanks, Katie.

Katie has a very intuitive approach.  She had a good understanding of my business and team within a couple of sessions.  She asked probing questions when needed and managed to facilitate really useful team sessions which have brought noticeable positive shifts to the business. I have no hesitation in recommending her as an excellent facilitator and a genuine catalyst for change and improvement

This project has really taken on momentum since the team had strengths-based training and support.  Learning about creative problem solving, having experience of coaching, group coaching and understanding that we could use our creative resources and tools, has given us the confidence to have a go and try new things and it’s all a huge thank you to Katie.
